Client Focused

with a passion for design

here's a bit about us

Poppy Bleu is the culmination of a long and enduring friendship, and maybe more than a glass or two of wine! Our friendship began almost two decades ago when our children were young. Over the years, we have volunteered, chaired fundraisers, created and hosted events, vacationed and been workout partners. As trusted friends, we have consulted one another on our own home design and organizing projects, home staging, redesign projects, VRBO rental home staging/hospitality and event planning and staging -  all while raising our families! Over many a bottle of wine, we have discussed what our second act would look like as our kids grew up and flew the nest. Poppy Bleu was born of our aspiration to create a business based on our passion for design and the desire to be surrounded by partners we trust and enjoy. We would love to share our passion with you and help you create that perfect space or environment for your next home staging project, redesign plan or curated event!

We are HSR Certified Professionals in home staging, interior redesign & organization serving Southern California and Northern Idaho, including Westlake Village, Agoura, Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Moorpark, Simi Valley, Camarillo, Encino, Sherman Oaks, Coeur D’Alene, Hayden Lake, Post Falls and surrounding areas. We have completed the most comprehensive and intensive home staging and redesign certification courses in North America provided by the Home Staging Resource.

The HSR Certification program was the first and is one of the only Accredited staging training by the Real Estate Staging Assocation (RESA) who is the governing body for the home staging industry.

”There is nothing more exciting than incorporating bold, vibrant colors with a striking mix of genres and periods to create lively, magical spaces that inhabit memories and enrich lives.”

-Jamie Drake

Vintage furniture, china, jewelry and art have always intrigued me! My homes are filled with unique pieces that reflect family and tradition. I also have a passion for color and textures whether in floral arranging or interior design. I love pairing unique pieces and textures with current trends to create eclectic spaces that reflect one’s personality and style…their soul.

After a successful career in finance, marketing and investments, I embarked on my dream job of raising my four kids. For the past 22 years, I have been blessed to be involved with my kids and their schools as well as traveling to their activities and sports both near and far. Much of my free time has been spent volunteering for several organizations, including Tournament of Roses, Junior League Pasadena, National Charity League and Centennial Guild of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

One common denominator that has made this time and these events so memorable is the time spent with my family and good friends. More often than not, my partners in crime were Angela and Michelle. Founding Poppy Bleu, we are so excited to embark on this next chapter and help clients transform their spaces while incorporating their most treasured heirlooms to create unique spaces. We would also love to assist clients in hosting beautifully curated events.

While I currently reside in Newbury Park, CA with my husband and children, in September, I will begin to split time between Newbury Park and Hayden Lake, Idaho where I have made many happy summer memories over the past several years.

I enjoy wine tasting and trying new restaurants, time with family and friends, and spending time outdoors walking, boating, playing volleyball, vintage shopping and floral arranging.

I truly look forward to collaborating with you on your next design project or special event!

“Our homes tell our stories, they reflect the places we’ve been and the people we’ve loved along the way, and there can be no more beautiful design for living than that.”

-Nate Berkus

I have always been a collector of things I love -- including my friends. I grew up antiquing, thrifting and collecting with my parents who have been avid antique dealers all my life. I have a passion for vintage china, table linens, primitives and textiles. I love the challenge of the hunt and the satisfaction of finding the perfect piece.

After an exciting career in marketing and publishing, I paused to raise a family and create a home that I love. I have decorated three homes to suit our growing family's needs and changing lifestyle. Through my many years of volunteering, I have managed a thrift store, chaired many fundraising events and personal events and found my passion. I love working with people and helping them find their vision whether it is for their home or a special event.

I currently reside in Westlake Village, CA with my husband and grown children. I am in the middle of designing my dream kitchen. I enjoy drinking wine on our boat, trying new restaurants, hiking with girlfriends, pilates and finding a bargain!  You may spot me at my local HomeGoods!

“Have nothing in your houses which you do not know to be USEFUL or believe to be BEAUTIFUL”

-William Morris

While I was growing up, our home was constantly filled with activity -- holiday parties, birthday parties, Sunday dinners, little league meetings, neighborhood get-togethers and, of course, family.  As the oldest of five children, my responsibilities were many --- but so are the treasured memories of that time in my life.  Those memories will never leave me; but I must admit, the older I get, the more I realize that the "things" inside that family home have their own treasured meaning.  My parents loved collecting antiques and through the years, as they traveled, they brought back unique pieces of "stuff" from crystal to side boards to paintings.  As the antiques and special pieces filled our home, so did the stories of family and friends and travels; and today those memories are present in all of us through all of those treasures, large and small.

It was a combination of those childhood memories and those random "things" that I was surrounded by that created my eclectic style today.  I love new things, strong lines, classic black and white, but I love pieces that have a story and bring about a memory.

My husband and I have owned four homes, raised three children and a few pets along the way.  Each home has been distinctly different, from two story traditional to 40-year old ranch style.  We have lived through multiple remodels at every budget and are currently building our dream home out of state. Although I continue to have a busy career in risk management, I am preparing for the next chapter which includes following my passion for design, staging and organizing. I am excited to help you find that same feeling in your own design.

With more than a decade of friendship, Jennifer, Michelle, and I have taken family vacations together, created many special events together and inspired each other to create our own special places in our own homes.  We look forward to helping you achieve your own special places and memories --- and doing so at any budget.

Emotional Connections Points-"Wow Factor"

Buying a house is more than a financial decision; it is an emotional decision as well. Buyers aren't just making an investment in a property, they are purchasing a place to call home; to raise their children; to begin a new chapter; or to retire to a new season of life."
